Submission Guidelines
Essays are normally 1,000–2,500 words, rooted in the Horn of Africa, theologically serious but accessible, and original.
Preparing your manuscript
Write for an intelligent general reader rather than a specialist seminar. Explain terms of art. Where you cite Scripture, name the translation.
Support factual claims. Link to sources where they exist online; give full references where they do not.
Submit as PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF or plain text, up to 10 MB.
After you submit
Submissions move through initial screening, editorial review, possible revisions, acceptance and scheduling. You are notified by email at each major stage.
We do not alter an author’s substantive wording without agreement. Copy editing for clarity, grammar and house style is normal.
Questions about this policy can be raised through the submissions page.
