About Horn Theology

Horn Theology is an independent Christian public-theology publication and ministry rooted in the Horn of Africa. We bring the theological traditions of the region into sustained conversation with its public life—its hopes, wounds, conflicts, cultures and possibilities.

The Horn is one of the world’s oldest religious landscapes. Christianity and Islam have shaped its societies for centuries, while indigenous traditions, modern political movements, migration and conflict continue to influence how its peoples understand God, one another and the common good. Yet much of the region’s theological reflection remains confined to pulpits, classrooms or denominational institutions.

Horn Theology exists to widen that conversation.

We publish thoughtful and accessible work on faith, politics, peace, healthcare, identity, culture, ecology, economics, migration and relations among religious communities. We seek neither partisan propaganda nor detached academic commentary. We seek a theology that listens carefully, speaks truthfully and contributes to the flourishing of the peoples of the Horn.

To cultivate courageous, contextually rooted and publicly engaged theological reflection for the churches and communities of the Horn of Africa.

A Horn of Africa in which theology contributes meaningfully to justice, peace, reconciliation, human dignity and the common good.
